Try hearing aids free for a week
Have a hearing test at our Team Valley clinic. If it shows hearing aids would help, take a pair home and live with them for a week before you decide. No deposit, no card details, no obligation to buy.
How it works
- Book a hearing test at the clinic. It costs Β£50 and takes about an hour with Paul, our HCPC-registered audiologist.
- If hearing aids would help, Paul sets up a pair for your hearing there and then. Where we have them, these are top-of-the-range demonstration aids.
- Take them home for a week. Wear them at home, at work, in the pub, on the phone and in front of the telly. That's where you find out if they make a difference.
- Come back and decide. If you go ahead, the Β£50 test fee comes off the price. If not, hand them back. No pressure either way.
What it costs
The week is free. We don't take a deposit or card details, and you don't have to buy anything. The only thing you pay for is the hearing test, and that comes off your hearing aids if you go ahead.
If you do buy, your own hearing aids come with a further 30-day trial from the day you receive them, with a full refund of the hearing aid price if they're not right for you.
The small print, in plain English
- The trial follows a hearing test at our Team Valley clinic. It isn't available with home visits.
- You can have one free trial of each hearing aid model. When new models come out, you can try those too.
- The demonstration aids belong to us while you have them, so please look after them.
- If they're damaged beyond repair while you have them, there's a charge of Β£200 for the set. If they're lost, it's Β£1,320 for the set (Β£1,100 plus VAT), which is what they cost us to replace. There's no charge for normal wear and tear, and we'll always talk to you first.
- We book your return appointment for the end of the week. If you're ill or something comes up, just ring us and we'll rearrange.
The full legal terms are in section 4 of our terms and conditions.
Questions people ask
Do I have to buy hearing aids after the trial?
No. Bring them back at the end of the week and tell us what you think. If they're not for you, that's fine. There's nothing to pay for the trial itself.
Will the trial aids be the ones I buy?
Not always. Where we have them, we lend top-of-the-range demonstration aids so you hear the best of what's available. If you go ahead, Paul will explain any difference between the demo pair and the aids you choose.
Can I have the trial at a home visit?
The free trial is for clinic appointments at Team Valley. Home visits are still available for tests, wax removal and aftercare.
What happens if I'm ill and can't bring them back on time?
Ring us on 0191 5111 878 as soon as you can and we'll arrange a new date. Other people are booked in to try the same aids, so we do need to know.
