What the price is actually buying. Across the UK, private aids run from a few hundred pounds each at entry level to around £3,000 each at the top. The extra money doesn't buy louder sound, it buys better separation of a voice from background noise. So the honest question isn't "what can I afford", it's "how demanding is my listening life". If you're mostly at home and one-to-one, a mid-range aid fitted properly will serve you better than a premium aid fitted badly. We'll tell you which you need.
NHS, high street, or independent?
All three are legitimate. They suit different people.

If money is the deciding factor, go to your GP and use the NHS. It's a good service and we say so freely. Independent fitting is for people who want the full choice of manufacturers and styles, longer appointments, and the same clinician looking after them year after year.

1 · Full assessment (£50)
An hour. We test properly and, more importantly, work out where your hearing is actually letting you down. Refunded in full if you go ahead.
2 · Honest recommendation
We show you what suits your hearing, your dexterity and your budget, from any manufacturer. If aids wouldn't help you, we say that instead.
3 · Fitting and trial
Programmed to your hearing, then worn in your real life, your real noisy rooms, before you commit to anything.
4 · Aftercare for life
Adjustments, cleaning, reprogramming and support for as long as you wear them. No appointment charges.
Styles we fit
- Invisible-in-canal (IIC) and completely-in-canal (CIC): sit deep in the canal, essentially unseen
- In-the-canal (ITC) and in-the-ear (ITE): custom-moulded, easier to handle
- Receiver-in-canal (RIC): the most commonly fitted style, discreet and very flexible
- Behind-the-ear (BTE): the most powerful option, best for more significant losses
Which style suits you depends on your ear canal shape, how much hearing you've lost, and how good you are with small things in your fingers. That's a decision for after the assessment, not before it.
