Does earwax removal hurt?
Not at all. We use gentle microsuction — no water and no syringing — and you can watch the whole thing on screen. It's quick, clean and comfortable. £60 at the clinic or £80 on a home visit, both ears included.
Do you offer home visits?
Yes. We bring premium hearing care to homes and care homes right across Newcastle and the North East — ideal if it's difficult to get out and about.
Are you NHS or private?
We're a fully independent private clinic. That means unhurried appointments, the latest technology, and hearing aids from every manufacturer — not a single fixed range.
How much does it cost?
Earwax removal is £60 at the clinic or £80 on a home visit, both ears included. A full hearing assessment is £50, and that comes off the price if you decide to go ahead with hearing aids. Aids are fitted to suit your budget. You'll always know the price before anything happens.
Why do you charge for a hearing test when other places are free?
Because a free test still gets paid for somewhere, and usually that's in the price of the aids sold afterwards. We'd rather charge £50 up front and take it off if you go ahead, so nothing about your appointment depends on you buying anything. If you don't need aids, we'll tell you, and you'll have paid £50 for an honest answer from a registered audiologist.
Which hearing aids do you fit?
Every leading brand, including Starkey, Phonak and Oticon — from invisible-in-the-canal to behind-the-ear styles. We recommend what suits your ears and lifestyle, never what we're told to sell.
Can I try hearing aids before committing?
Yes. Every fitting comes with a genuine trial period, so you can make sure your aids work for your life before you commit — plus free aftercare for life.
Is a more expensive hearing aid always better?
Not necessarily. Clinical research shows the fitting and the match to the person drive outcomes far more than the price tier. That's why we recommend what suits your lifestyle and budget, not the most expensive option.
How do I know if I need a hearing aid?
Common signs include asking people to repeat themselves, turning the TV up louder than others prefer, or struggling to follow conversation in noisy places. A free online hearing check or a full assessment with us will tell you for sure.
How often should hearing aids be replaced or checked?
We recommend a hearing check every year, similar to an eye test, plus regular servicing to keep your aids performing at their best.
